About Us

 Personal Space was born as a local family business between Karina Chavez and her husband Christopher Ramos. We are a small family business that was born and raised in Highland Park. This is our backyard. We grew up just blocks away next to Garvanza Park. We wanted to start a business that grew in our town, like we did. We have seen a lot of changes throughout our community during the years. With small businesses we grew up knowing, coming to an end, just like ours. We had a storefront on York Blvd. Although we had to make the tough decision to close our doors, we will still be keeping our online store. We still want to grow along with our neighborhood to keep the culture and authenticity alive. We hope we inspire many to do the same. 

Our home decor is boho inspired. Many of our products are hand-made. What makes our business special is a lot of our vendors are also small businesses. We also have a lot of hand-made products from Morocco, India, Mexico, etc. That is special to us because they depend on their sales to feed their families. We are a small business helping and supporting other small businesses :)
